Funny.Adventurous.Lovely.Enchanting. These are just a few words that I can use to describe the production of Beauty and the Beast at the Arizona Broadway Theatre. I have been to this theatre once last year when I took our oldest,Noah, to go see “A Charlie Brown Christmas” (which is a fantastic little production they put on every Christmas). Typically this is a dinner theatre, and this time around that is what I had the pleasure to partake in, and let me tell you it was a wonderful experience. The best thing about this theatre is that every seat in the house is great!
We arrived 15 minutes to dinner time and we were greeted by a lovely young lady as you enter the lobby. As you wait, there are a few things to keep you busy whether you want a cocktail at the bar or partake in the silent auction. As it was time to go in, another greeter was ready to show you to your table, which was set so classy. We were sat at noon and curtain call was at 2pm so that allowed plenty of time for eating and conversation before the show started. I wasn’t sure what to expect from the dinner, but it was very good and they plenty of menu options that were included in the ticket or you could pay extra for certain dishes. First I started out with a cup of soup and my main entree I got was the Salmon and wild rice, which was included, and all of it was very, very good!
After the dinner experience, it was time for the curtain to rise. From the beginning to the end this musical was just magical. From the singing to the dancing and the revolving set. I absolutely loved every single second of it. “Be Our Guest” was my favorite number and it was just as entertaining and colorful as you would imagine. The cast was truly amazing and I would definitely see it again!
If you missed out, this production of Beauty and the Beast will be at the Arizona Broadway Theatre until July 2nd and then move to the Herberger Theatre Downtown PHX from July 7th to July 16th. A perfect way to beat the heat and support the arts!
