It’s no surprise that Nick and I love Coronado Island. The last time we went was this year back in the beginning of August. This was the first time we were able to experience Coronado in its entirety, and realized that when we visit the San Diego area we don’t want to stay anywhere else. Coronado Island is a quaint and charming beach community with the most beautiful homes and amazing hotel options for your stay!
There’s one thing you cannot leave off of a Fall Bucket List and that is a good ole’ pumpkin patch! Though it may not be the most exciting thing for us adults, the kids absolutely love it! The games, rides, corn mazes, food and picking out the perfect pumpkin. There’s nothing more than I love about going to a festival and getting a fresh bag of kettle corn! There a plenty of really awesome festivals to choose from throughout the state but we decided to take a short drive up north to Mortimer Farms to check out their pumpkin festival!
Baking an apple pie has always been a must have on our Fall Bucket List. I’ve always pictured taking a drive on a beautiful, crisp Fall morning and go apple picking. Then bring our pickings home and bake a beautiful pie. Can you picture it? Now fast forward that amazing picture to this morning. We live in Phoenix. It’s hot. The closest apple orchard to us is 3 hours and 15 minutes away in Wilcox.
Next up on our Fall Bucket List Series, caramel apples. I love, love, love caramel apples. Though, they are sooooo difficult to eat, very messy and sticky! So, I decided to use apple slices. It’s much easier to eat, and you’re not committed to the full apple. I don’t know about you, but I never finish the whole thing!
I love Fall. The crisp air, the beautiful leaves changing to those amazing fall hues and pumpkin EVERYTHING! Ohhhhhh wait. We live in Phoenix, so unfortunately, the crisp air doesn’t show up until the end of October for a few hours in the morning. We have to drive 2 hours to see any sort of leaves change. The one thing I know I can count on … is pumpkin everything! I’m okay with that!
Since I love fall so much, and I know we are just that much closer to my most favorite season WINTER, I have decided to do a Fall bucket list series. So, every weekend from now until mid November we are going to showcase a new activity, craft or recipe to inspire your bucket list!
I know what you’re thinking. Can you really take one post to only talk about food?? Okay friends. If you know us, we love food. I mean LOVE food. We love going to restaurants. We treat it as an experience, and plan our vacations around where we are going to eat. So yes, I can totally make a post about allllll the food. Here are our favorite places to eat on the island!
I totally get why they say, Vitamin “Sea.” There is something about the ocean that truly is settling to the mind. Whether it be the crashing of the waves, the smell of salt water, the cool breeze going through your entire body or all three! For me it’s the latter. It doesn’t matter whether we have the kids or not, there is something so amazing and calming about being near or on the beach. It’s a place where I could sit all day and truly be lazy, whether I am watching the boys play in the sand or it’s just Nick and I walking, collecting sea shells (which we totally did this time). Okay, now I wanna go back.
Nick and I don’t get out of town by ourselves much. The last time the two of us were away by ourselves was 2012. I remember it vividly we went to Vegas for 3 glorious days. So fast forward to 2 weeks ago when, I had just left the kids with their babysitter and headed to work. I call Nick as I am pulling out of the driveway (my normal routine) and he says he has a “surprise” for me. Now when someone says, “I have a surprise for you,” your typical reaction is to get all sorts of giddy with lots of anticipation. Mine wasn’t, and not because I am a horrible person, but Nick tends to over use the word “surprise.” It turns into, “Tiff! I have a surprise for you!” then here comes the giddy with lots of anticipation, right?? But then he’ll tell me my Amazon package (which I was already expecting) came in. Cue the let down music, wha wha whaaaaaaaaa. This happens quite often, so you can see why I wasn’t excited whatsoever. But then he tells me, we have a sitter set so the two of us can take a 3 day weekend to Coronado Island. I’m more than positive my next words were “Shut the Front Door!” Not gonna lie, that phrase may have been a bit different at the moment. Don’t judge me, I was so stoked!
As you saw from the previous post our Father’s Day gift for Nick was a day to himself to do one of his favorite things, he loves a good hike. He always talks about hiking Humphrey’s Peak up in Flagstaff. For legit reasons (*cough, cough* an MS flare) I’ve always been apprehensive, but he apparently caught me on a good day and I agreed. It was also a perfect opportunity for me to just chill and hang out with my boys for the day.
Funny.Adventurous.Lovely.Enchanting. These are just a few words that I can use to describe the production of Beauty and the Beast at the Arizona Broadway Theatre. I have been to this theatre once last year when I took our oldest,Noah, to go see “A Charlie Brown Christmas” (which is a fantastic little production they put on every Christmas). Typically this is a dinner theatre, and this time around that is what I had the pleasure to partake in, and let me tell you it was a wonderful experience. The best thing about this theatre is that every seat in the house is great!
