Everything You Need to Know about Glorietta Bay Inn

It’s no surprise that Nick and I love Coronado Island. The last time we went was this year back in the beginning of August. This was the first time we were able to experience Coronado in its entirety, and realized that when we visit the San Diego area we don’t want to stay anywhere else. Coronado Island is a quaint and charming beach community with the most beautiful homes and amazing hotel options for your stay!

We really love to travel to places during their “off season.” There are many benefits to this, that I will get into later, and Coronado is one of the those places that is amazing whether you go in August or December! This time, we wanted to take the boys to show them why we love this place!

There is only place I will stay on the island, Glorietta Bay Inn. Like I’ve said in a previous post, it’s the perfect place to stay on the Island. The hotel sits right across the bay, it’s a 2 minute walk to the beach, walking distance to Orange Ave (which has a bunch of shopping  and restaurants) and if you like history, this hotel has a ton of it! As it was once the mansion of the original owner of the Hotel Del Coronado. We love history, so we were fascinated by all of it behind this hotel!

I seriously can’t say enough wonderful things about this hotel! So let’s start from the beginning. We drove in from Arizona, which is roughly a 4.5-5 hour drive. We arrived at the hotel at 10:30 am, which was early, so we were totally prepared to walk around and hang out with the kids if our room wasn’t ready quite yet. We were greeted by a very friendly front desk, check in was a breeze and our room was ready! Which was amazing, so we grabbed our stuff and headed to our room. I’ve never been disappointed with the rooms at this hotel, spacious, incredibly clean (greeted with a complimentary bottle of wine!) and a patio with wonderful views! I feel like every patio at this hotel has the best views. Our previous stays we’ve had views of the bay and this time we were seated right next to the mansion and heated pool, I’m not gonna lie, I really enjoyed our patio. A place Nick and I sat each night for a couple of hours. The views both during the day and at night were perfect!

Glorietta Bay Inn has really awesome amenities! Besides free WiFi and ’round the clock coffee, which is always amazing. They have an amazing continental breakfast with a wonderful spread of pastries, cereal, juices, coffee, pancakes and many other options! Complimentary  beach accessories including, but not limited to, sand toys, chairs, umbrellas and beach towels. This was perfect, we didn’t bring anything with us and now we were able to enjoy a nice beach day with the boys without the stress of them getting bored after two seconds! We only used a few of the many complimentary amenities they offer! When you visit with your kiddos have them ask the front desk about their “secret toy chest” or if you’re kiddos are having a hard time falling asleep use the room phone and have them listen to a nice bedtime story! Seriously friends, this place is the best!

Fantastic location, amazing views, incredible staff and clean comfortable rooms! If you’re  planning on making Coronado Island your next family vacation (keep an eye out for my next post of family friendly activities) I would highly suggest you consider making Glorietta Bay Inn part of your stay! You won’t regret it!
