Our story, and why we choose CBD.

Three simple letters. CBD. These three letters have changed our lives. Now, before we go into our back story let me explain to you what CBD actually is. Cannabinoids (CBD) is a natural compound that is found in the Marijuana plant. CBD and THC are the two main compounds found in the plant. Unlike THC, CBD is non psychoactive, it has a natural protection against the high you would receive from THC.  So, if you’re looking to get the benefits of the plant without feeling that actual “high”, CBD is the perfect alternative. This can come in many different forms: tinctures, edibles, topicals, oils etc…We choose oils, as it is the purest form.

So there’s the jist. Now our story. As most of you know, Nick was diagnosed with MS about 6 years ago. For those of you who don’t know, this is a neurological disorder that attacks the immune system and eats away at the protective covering of nerves. This can result into many different symptoms, basically no two persons with MS are the same.  He tried medication in the beginning. It made him terribly sick, to the point of throwing up at any given moment. This went on for about a month or so, and then he was over it. He refused to take any medicine, it was making everything worse. So, fast forward to 6 months ago. Nick was approached with the idea and the opportunity  to try Medical Marijuana. I have been researching mmj (that’s what I call it for short) for years. Was always impressed by what I read but was unsure of  the following 1.)  how to get it and 2.) it’s Marijuana, at first it makes you a bit nervous.

After much thought, we decided to go ahead and get Nick his mmj card and try it out. Nick does not smoke it, (if you know Nick, he refuses to be around any type of smoke) he strictly uses the oils. CBD in the morning and THC before bed. He is also a migraine sufferer from way back. They started slowly going away and two weeks after starting, they were gone. Every now and then he will start to feel pressure, but has never turned into a full blown migraine.

Now, my story. It was just over a year ago when Noah was diagnosed with ASD. Being a special needs parent is difficult and it was bringing out my anxiety. Nothing too bad, but enough for me to realize that I wasn’t feeling right. I am not the type of person that likes to take medication, never have been. So I was doing everything I could to figure out other ways to help when I would start to feel a little anxious. Then I came across CBD. Not gonna lie, I was nervous. It was new, I wasn’t sure what it was gonna do to my body. So I decided to try it out. I can’t explain how awesome this product is. I would say about a week later, I was no longer getting anxious. It’s the greatest feeling and I have been taking it ever since. The best part for me is that it is completely non psychoactive, so it doesn’t make you feel anything. Though, day by day you feel so much better.

Here in AZ Medical Marijuana is still illegal without a card. This is why CBD is a great alternative because it’s perfectly legal, and you can purchase it in many different forms. Here is a list of just a few benefits you will get from taking CBD:

• Fights against Cancer

• Reduces Inflammation  and Autoimmunity

• Helps with Epileptic Siezures

• Reduces Anxiety

• Relieves Pain

• Relieves Nausea

• Lowers incidents of Diabetes

• Promotes Heart Health

…. and many more!!

This is really informative! I’m glad you are finding something that works for your family. I’m in Canada and our government is just rolling out legalization for marijuana. It definitely is causing debate here and I’m not sure how I feel about it. I definitely think CBD and medical uses (safe grades of MJ) should be given more study and their many benefits better acknowledged!

Good for you guys! I recently left the medical field bc i was just over the, well, everything, but especially the medication. We rely on meds that make us more sick and we have to take more meds. it is just nonsense sometimes when we have a perfectly natural solution.

It really is, and this takes away all the symptoms my husband was having with his MS medication! It’s like, why not!?
